Juanelo Piedra Cave

Juanelo Piedra is a sidemount diver’s playground. Composed of three distinct galleries featuring multiple restrictions and lined with white speleothems, this cave offers a more technical dive through narrow, delicately decorated passages.

Its scientific interest lies in the discovery of Megalocnus remains, dating between 20,000 and 1.2 million years old—a rare window into Cuba’s prehistoric fauna. While not deep, the cave requires precise buoyancy control and advanced cave diving skills due to its structure and conservation-sensitive formations.
